Database AdministratorWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator with a background in Linux environments ideally to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of databases on Linux servers. This role requires a deep understanding of database management systems (DBMS), Linux operating systems, and the ability to ensure the security, availability, and integrity of our databases.
What you’ll do
- Lead efforts in automation, continuous deployment, and build and configuration management.
- Develop and maintain a monitoring system that overlooks our build landscape.
- Suggest and drive improvements in how the team works. Collaborate with teammates to hone your ideas and build consensus.
- Identify and address security and performance issues. Maintain a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related work experience
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others, as well as work independently.
- Passion for learning new technologies and programming skills.
- Strong technical problem solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Fluent English written and verbal.
Tech you bring
- 1–2-year experience in either of the DB flavours like Oracle, HANA, MySQL etc.
- Experience of working in large landscape/environment where multiple database flavors are running.
- Ideally 1–2-year experience with expert knowledge of Unix/Linux flavors w.r.t Database.
